Individual Note
Lucy was one of the Staplehurst Gomerys, the daughter of Thomas Gomery and Ruth Ranger, who at the time of Lucy's birth were living at Langley, a village near Maidstone. The 1841 census found them settled in Strood, near Frindsbury, Rochester, the birthplace of Lucy's eldest son John around 1820 according to census infomation.
